SEND Teaching Assistant (Classroom and 1:1 Support)
About the role
Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs to feel safe, understood and able to succeed?
At Heart of Supply, we’re looking for caring, resilient and adaptable SEND Teaching Assistants to support pupils across a range of settings in Lincoln and the surrounding areas. This may include classroom-based support, 1:1 work, small group intervention, inclusion units, resource provisions and specialist SEND settings.
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you’ll play an important role in helping pupils access learning, manage routines, build confidence and develop independence. Some pupils may need academic support, while others may require help with emotional regulation, communication, sensory needs or behaviour.
You’ll work closely with class teachers, SENCOs and wider school teams, following guidance while also using your initiative to respond calmly and consistently to the needs of the pupils you support.
This is a rewarding role for someone who understands that progress can look different for every child, and that patience, encouragement and consistency can make a huge difference to a pupil’s school day.

What you will need
- Experience working with children or young people in a school, SEND, childcare or care-based setting
- A calm, patient and consistent approach
- Confidence supporting pupils with a range of additional needs
- An understanding of SEND, EHCPs, SEMH, autism, sensory needs or communication difficulties
- The ability to support pupils 1:1, in small groups or within the wider classroom
- A flexible and resilient approach, especially when supporting pupils with emotional regulation or behaviour needs
- The ability to follow guidance from teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams
- A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.

£93-£105 per day (depending on experience, role and/or qualifications)
