YR1/2 Teacher
About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced teacher to lead a mixed Year 1/2 class at a welcoming primary school in Lincoln from Easter 2026. This full-time role sits within Key Stage 1 and requires a practitioner who understands progression from EYFS into the National Curriculum and can effectively scaffold learning across two year groups.
You will establish a nurturing and well-structured classroom environment, supporting pupils’ transition towards increasingly independent learning. A strong commitment to inclusive practice, high expectations for behaviour and achievement, and effective communication with parents and carers is essential.

What you will need
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Recent UK classroom experience (minimum 6 weeks)
- Strong knowledge of the Key Stage 1 curriculum, including age-related expectations in Year 1 and Year 2
- Experience planning and delivering high-quality, differentiated lessons across mixed attainment levels
- Confidence teaching systematic synthetic phonics, including Little Wandle
- Secure understanding of end-of-Key-Stage 1 assessment and Year 2 SATs preparation
- Strong organisational skills to manage mixed-age planning effectively
- A warm, nurturing approach and genuine passion for early childhood development
- Creative, engaging teaching strategies that promote active learning
- Strong classroom management and adaptability
